Bastion of Twilight Week!

Next week (Starting 9/2/11) is going to be a little nonstandard, compared to our usual raiding schedule. Where we normally spend most of our time in Blackwing Descent, this week we're aiming to kill every boss in the Bastion of Twilight.

So, this post is dedicated to getting us tooled up for the upcoming week!

Bastion of Twilight has 4 bosses (and one super hard boss we won't be fighting)
  • Halfus Wyrmbreaker
  • Valiona and Theralion
  • The Twilight Asendants
  • Cho'gall
I will be updating this post throughout the week with new bosses. For now, Halfus!

Halfus Wyrmbreaker

Halfus Wyrmbreaker's fight revolves around 3 of 5 possible dragons. Each week, different dragons will be selected by halfus, and they will not change for the rest of the week. Depending on which dragons are active, halfus and his proto-behemoth (which we do not fight directly, it dies when halfus does) gain different
Dragons can be released at any time, at which point they will fly into the air and after about 3-5 seconds will attack the raid as adds. After this period Each time a dragon is killed, the entire raid gains a stacking +50% damage buff for the rest of the fight.
The difficulty of the boss comes from battling against the 6 minute enrage timer and the selection of which adds to dps first.

The five dragons which can be selected and their abilities are as follows

- Storm Rider
  • Allows Halfus to cast Shadow Nova - (0.25 sec cast, interruptable) Deals 28500 - 31500 shadow damage and knocks back all players within 5,000 yards
  • When released, slows the cast time of Shadow Nova to 1.5 seconds (Making it easily interruptable)
  • All shadow novas must be interrupted, so this drake will usually be released first
- Nether Scion
  • Increases Halfus' attack speed by 100%
  • When released, slows Halfus' attack speed, damage, and hit chance by 25%
  • This drake usually will be taken second, unless the Stone Drake is also up, in which case must be taken first to slow Malevolent Strikes
- Slate Dragon
  • All of Halfus' strikes cause Malevolent Strike on the target, lowering healing done on the target by 6%, stacking up to 15 times.
  • When released, casts Stone Touch on Halfus every 35 seconds, stunning him for 12 seconds.
  • Usually a low prioriy release, as Stone Touch is rarely worth the time not DPSing the boss. Tanks will need to swap aggro from Halfus if this dragon is active, however. As more than 10 Malevolent Strikes will almost always result in death.
- Time Warden
  • Allows the Proto-Behemoth to cast Fireball Barrage, dealing 34000-46000 damage 3 times rapidly.
  • When released, slows down Fireball Barrage and marks the area which they will hit .
  • When this drake is not released Fireball Barrage can be a big problem. If you see one fireball hit you, you need to move around to dodge the next 2.
  • 3 Fireballs in a row will kill 90% of the time.
- Emerald Whelps
  • Allows the Proto-Behemoth to cast Superheated Breath, dealing 9000 damage to all raid members over 8 seconds.
  • When released, lowers the damage of all the Proto-Behemoth's abilities by 6000 damage
  • If the whelps and the Time Warden are both up, the whelps will usually be a priority. Otherwise, this is usually a second priority.

Glory of the Cataclysm Hero!

You there! Yes, you! Do you want a dragon!?

The time has come for us to start kicking some serious ass in heroics. We need to get our guild out there by getting some outlandish mounts to attract people who see them, so this post is now officially the application thread for our 5 man Glory of the Cataclysm Hero group.

Apply in the comments, and i'll edit the post with confirmations of places in the group.

Please note: gear and skill will be the deciding factors in creating the group. If anyone else wants to set up a group then comment in this thread or send me in game mail and i'll sort out a blog post for applications.

Good luck to everyone that applies!

Thursday was a toughie. No bosses downed tonight, but we were lucky enough to loot an
